This is an attended field M-F 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sat-Sun 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There is one asphalt runway (7\/25) in good condition, 5,506 x 100 ft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both hangars and tiedowns are available for parking, and this field serves both military and civilian flight ops. They offer full-service fueling and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some things to be aware of: The <strong>Daniel Boone Helipad<\/strong> is only a 1\/2 nautical mile away and serves the <strong>Kentucky State Capitol Complex<\/strong>. Also, there is a possibility of deer and birds on this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-transportation\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transportation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no crew car at this airport; however, a shuttle is available. There is also an <strong>Enterprise Rent-A-Car<\/strong> just north of Hwy 64 on Versailles Rd. The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/historicproperties.ky.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kentucky Old Governors&#8217; Mansion<\/a><\/strong>, built in 1798, is a Federal-style residence that was home to 33 different governors. This building is one of the oldest executive mansions still standing in America. There is also the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.libertyhall.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Liberty Hall Hist<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.libertyhall.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">o<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.libertyhall.org\/\">ric Site<\/a><\/strong> from the 18th century, and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.frankfort.ky.gov\/761\/Leslie-Morris-Park-Fort-Hill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sullivan House Visitor Center<\/a><\/strong> in Leslie-Morris Park at Fort Hill. Sullivan House will allow you to explore Civil War forts and a log home built in 1810. For a recreated 1850s library, visit the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/history.ky.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kentucky Historical Society<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An event held here annually, billed as &#8220;<strong>The Largest Bourbon Experience<\/strong>,&#8221; has recently been named <strong>Music Festival of the Year<\/strong>. Four days of outstanding musical talent, plus the opportunity to sip and savor any kind of bourbon you can think of. One of the oldest bourbon distilleries in the U.S., the <strong>Buffalo Trace Distillery<\/strong> can be found here. Also, <strong>Castle &amp; Key Distillery<\/strong> is in nearby Millville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For American history buffs, the American frontiersman <strong>Daniel Boone<\/strong> has his burial site in a hilltop cemetery with panoramic river views below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For outdoor recreation, the nature preserve at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eec.ky.gov\/Nature-Preserves\/Locations\/Pages\/Cove-Springs-Park.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cove Springs<\/a><\/strong> with waterfalls, historic ruins, and walking trails is very nice.
