Terre Haute Regional Airport<\/strong> (HUF, KHUF) is a towered public airport located about 5 miles east of downtown Terre Haute, Indiana<\/strong>, 6 if you’re driving. It is also known as Hulman Field<\/strong>. This is a GA and military field only. There is no commercial traffic here. There are 2 runways, as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoosier Aviation<\/a><\/strong> is the full-service FBO here. They have both AvGas and Jet-A, a nice pilot lounge, WiFi, lav service, catering, concierge services, de-icing, aircraft rentals, and hangars or tiedowns for parking. Bonus<\/strong>: They have a massage chair. Maintenance is available here via Williams Aviation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terre Haute is the home of Indiana State University<\/strong>, and the Indiana State University Flight Academy<\/strong> is on this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also on this field are ICTT Systems Sciences<\/strong> (organizational problem solving and systems), S&T Fulfillment<\/strong> (packaging, warehousing, and distribution services), Enjet Aero\/Stark Industries <\/strong>(CNC machining for aerospace), Tri-Aerospace LLC (<\/strong>engine component manufacturing), and Turbine Inc.<\/strong> (turbine engine services and support)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two other important functions of this airport are being home to IU Health Lifeline<\/strong> (a critical care helicopter flight base) and the Terre Haute Air National Guard Base<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transportation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is a crew\/courtesy car listed on the FBO website. You can also arrange ground transport through Hoosier Aviation<\/strong>. Vehicle parking is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taxi services E2 Taxi<\/strong> and Terre Haute Cab Service<\/strong>, as well as Uber<\/strong>, are all available. Honestly, I would choose Uber<\/strong> after reading online reviews for both taxi services. There are both good and bad reviews, but it seems like a crapshoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where To Stay Near Terre Haute Regional Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Prices and names change frequently. For current prices, amenities, and new owner rebrands, check Expedia.com<\/a><\/strong> or Hotels.com<\/a><\/strong>. The first four are all clustered along US-41 just minutes from the airport. The last four are for longer stays or closer to downtown. If you’re looking for entertainment, the Terre Haute Casino Resort<\/a><\/strong> would be a good choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
