Westchester County Airport<\/a><\/strong> (HPN, KHPN) is a public towered airport located 3.5 miles NE of downtown White Plains<\/strong>, Westchester County<\/strong>, New York<\/strong>. This is a county-owned commercial and general aviation airport serving the Hudson Valley<\/strong>, western Connecticut<\/strong>, and the northern New York<\/strong> City<\/strong> metro region. There are two runways as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FBOs & Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are three full-service FBOs on this field with five different locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Million Air White Plains<\/a><\/strong> sits on the west side of the field, directly off Taxiway A. You can visit the link to see all amenities and services, as there are too many to mention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atlantic Aviation-West<\/a><\/strong> is located at the south end of <\/strong>Taxiway C on the west side of the field. Special event fees apply during the holiday season. Atlantic Aviation-East<\/a><\/strong> is located east of Runway 16\/34<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Signature Flight Support-East<\/a><\/strong> sits near the midfield east ramp. Signature Flight Support-West<\/a><\/strong> is between the Million Air complex and Atlantic West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important:<\/strong> This is a busy general aviation field with heavy charter traffic and limited ramp space. All operators may require prior arrangements for parking. If you are looking for a new way to charter, Villiers Jets<\/a><\/strong> is a pay-as-you-go charter service with no annual commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other aviation businesses include: Gulfstream Field & Airborne Support Team Base<\/a><\/strong>, Safe Flight Instrument Corp<\/a><\/strong>., Hoffman Engineering Corp<\/a><\/strong>., Allied International<\/strong> (Security), and Jonard Industries Corp<\/strong>. (Tools). Flight training is offered through the Academy of Aviation<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transportation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Crew cars and rental cars are available through each FBO. At present, (Jan. 2026), Enterprise<\/strong> and Budget<\/strong> are located inside the main terminal across from baggage claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rideshares queue in the Ground Transportation\/Passenger Pickup zone on the arrival level. Just follow the signs. There are airport shuttles here, but your hotel may offer one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommended options at this airport include: Uber or Lyft, County Trip Service<\/strong> (914-200-1313), Jimmy’s Taxi\/Tarrytown Cab<\/a><\/strong>, Harrison Car Service<\/a><\/strong>, and Yorkis’s Limo<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where To Stay Near Westchester County Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Prices and names change frequently. For current prices, amenities, and new owner re-brands, check Expedia.com<\/a><\/strong> or Hotels.com<\/a><\/strong>. All hotels within 5 miles of HPN<\/strong> are mid-range to upscale. Budget-friendly options begin around 6-8 miles from the airport. You can also use VRBO.com<\/a><\/strong> for something a little more unusual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyatt House White Plains<\/a>:<\/strong> A strong all\u2011suite option with kitchenettes and free breakfast in a quiet suburban setting. Excellent for crews because of the area shuttle offered<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cambria Hotel White Plains-Downtown<\/a><\/strong>: Modern, stylish, and walkable to downtown dining. One of the highest\u2011rated hotels in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sonesta White Plains-Downtown<\/a><\/strong>: Full\u2011service hotel with an indoor pool, restaurant, and airport shuttle (per Booking.com). Reliable and centrally located. Provides free airport pick-up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Opus Westchester<\/a><\/strong>: The luxury choice near the airport. Upscale rooms, refined dining, and premium amenities. Pets welcome for a fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Residence Inn by Marriott White Plains<\/a><\/strong>: All\u2011suite property with full kitchens and free breakfast. On-site restaurant and pets are allowed for a fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where To Eat And Drink (within 5 miles)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On airport grounds, you can grab a bite at Purchase Country Diner<\/strong> if you want more than terminal snacks. Not the best ratings and no website, but probably better than a bag of chips if you’re hungry. See individual links for menus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up, the Cobble Stone Restaurant,<\/strong><\/a> Burgers, beer, and normal pub food. The locals seem to like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Red Horse by David Burke, White Plains<\/a><\/strong>, upscale plates by famed chef David Burke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mulino’s of Westchester<\/a>: <\/strong>an elegant local landmark with local and national award-winning Northern Italian cuisine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aquario Restaurant<\/strong> Bar and Cocktail Lounge<\/strong>: a cozy atmosphere with Portuguese\/Brazilian seafood, steaks, and nice wine. (No website, but their menu is on TripAdvisor and OpenTable.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lilly’s<\/a><\/strong>: small plate restaurant with pizzas, truffle fries, great cocktails, and wine on tap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trattoria 632<\/a><\/strong>: family-owned and operated, full of homemade Italian goodness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things To Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From the field, you can take a helicopter tour to see the NYC skyline with Wings Air Helicopters<\/a><\/strong> or a Hudson Valley Fall Foliage tour<\/a><\/strong> through Viator<\/a><\/strong>. There are also a couple of public golf courses nearby: Griffith E. Harris Golf Course<\/strong> and Doral Golf Club<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contemporary Nueberger Museum of Art<\/strong> on the campus of Purchase College<\/strong>, and the unique Donald M. Kendall Sculpture Garden<\/strong> are both nearby. The garden is open weekends from March to November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll find a physical challenge at Boundless Adventures<\/strong>, with treetop zip lines, climbing courses, and family-friendly aerial challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are the Westchester Mall<\/strong> and Greenwich Avenue<\/strong> for shopping, dining options, and galleries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re a Sleepy Hollow<\/strong> fan, the author’s riverside home, Washington Irving’s Sunnyside<\/strong>, as well as Phillipsburg Manor<\/a><\/strong> (Sleepy Hollow), with costumed interpreters, is an 18th-century living history site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farther afield, but big drawing cards here are the Hudson Valley Wine and Food Festival<\/a><\/strong>, the weekend after Labor Day, and the Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze<\/a><\/strong> featuring thousands of illuminated hand-carved pumpkins. Usually September through November. Near Croton-on-Hudson<\/strong>, where the Great Jack O’ Lanterns Blaze is, Croton Gorge Park<\/a><\/strong>, which is great for fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing in winter, and a great photo op. You can also visit Kykuit (The Rockefeller Estate)<\/strong> within a 30-minute drive of the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of aviation importance<\/strong>: A short drive from HPN<\/strong>, you can visit the only monument Amelia Earhart<\/strong> ever saw dedicated to her during her lifetime. Harrison, NY, honored her groundbreaking 1932 solo transatlantic flight with a bronze propeller mounted on a granite boulder, unveiled while she was living in the area with her husband, publisher George Palmer Putnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
