Coastal Carolina Regional Airport<\/a><\/strong> (EWN, KEWN) is a towered public airport located 3 miles SE of New<\/strong> Bern, in Craven County, NC<\/strong>. There are two runways as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FBOs and Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tidewater Air Services LLC<\/strong> is the full-service FBO on the field. They offer both 100LL and Jet A, have a GPU, towing, a pilot lounge\/snooze room, flight planning, WiFi, catering, a full kitchen, and showers. Parking is ramp or tiedown. There is also a passenger terminal at this airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An on-field flight school, D2 Flight Academy<\/strong>, operates here as well as PilotJohn Aviation<\/strong>, a supplier of ground support equipment. I don’t know anyone at the D2 Flight Academy<\/strong>, but I’ve met a lot of the PilotJohn Aviation<\/strong> sales team at trade shows, and you won’t find nicer people. They will bend over backwards to make sure you get what you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breeze Airways<\/strong> and American Airlines<\/strong> provide three non-stop commercial flights here. American flies daily to Charlotte (CLT) and Breeze flies to Orlando (MCO) and seasonally to Hartford (BDL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A crew car is listed. Additionally, rentals are available through the FBO, or you can grab one yourself inside the terminal, just past baggage claim. There is a designated rental car lot directly outside the exit doors. The current rental agencies are: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, National, and Alamo<\/strong>. If none of these suit your fancy, you can check Carla Car Rental<\/a><\/strong> to find the best deals. Vehicle parking is free for the first 15 minutes in both long and short-term parking. There is a cell phone lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Inside the terminal, only grab-and-go snacks are available unless a seasonal vendor moves in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sea & Soul Bar & Grille<\/a><\/strong>, Beartown Bistro and Pizza Company<\/a><\/strong>, Taqueria San Luis<\/a><\/strong>, and Carolina Grill<\/a><\/strong> are the closest to the airport. In most places, Taqueria San Luis<\/strong> is a food truck; here, it is an actual building with street tacos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Next up, Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q<\/a><\/strong> (casual counter or drive-thru Eastern NC-style BBQ), Cook Out<\/a> <\/strong>(drive-thru burgers, BBQ,<\/strong> and shakes), and Roots Asian Restaurant<\/strong>. (FB only)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Between three and four miles out are: Blackbeard’s Triple Play Restaurant & Bar<\/a>, and Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant<\/a><\/strong>.     Things To Do Near Coastal Carolina Regional Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    The bi-annual MCAS Cherry Point Air Show<\/a><\/strong> is a major aviation festival. This coming year features the Blue Angels<\/strong>, military demonstrations, and static aircraft displays. The next one is set for May 9-10, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Not only was New Bern<\/strong> the first capital of North Carolina<\/strong>, but it’s also the Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola<\/strong>. Step inside the Pepsi Store<\/a><\/strong> on Middle Street and discover how a local soda accident became a global icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tryon Palace<\/a><\/strong>, a reconstructed 18th-century governor’s mansion with 16 acres of gardens and costumed interpreters, is a standout for anyone interested in early American history. Just steps away, the North Carolina History Center<\/strong> at Tryon Palace offers an engaging, family\u2011friendly extension of the experience. For those drawn to military history, the New Bern Civil War Battlefield Park<\/strong> provides 30 acres of preserved landscape filled with walking trails and interpretive signage that bring the 1862 battle to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nature lovers will also find plenty of room to unwind at Lawson Creek Park\u2019s 140 acres of riverfront greenspace or along the waterfront paths of Union Point Park<\/strong>, complete with its picture\u2011perfect gazebo.
