  • Hotels closest to the airport: Wingate by Wyndham Eagle serves a continental breakfast, features an indoor pool and hot tub, offers transportation to and from the airport, and allows pets for a fee. Best Western Plus Eagle Lodge offers a shuttle, a pool, and a hot tub, and allows 2 pets for a fee.
  • Unique local stays or lodges: The Pines Lodge, a RockResort, offers a fine-dining restaurant on-site and has free area shuttles (including a ski shuttle), and allows service animals only. Beaver Creek Lodge: a breakfast restaurant on-site, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and an airport shuttle. Service animals only are allowed.
  • Budget‑friendly options: Quality Inn & Suites Vail Valley offers a buffet breakfast, an indoor pool/hot tub area, a laundry room, and a microwave/mini fridge available upon request. They do not allow pets or provide an airport shuttle. GreenTree Extended Stay Eagle offers buffet breakfast, features an arcade and game room, a nice outdoor terrace with a grill, and is dog and family-friendly

Things To Do Near Eagle County Regional Airport

Vail Mountain
One of Colorado’s most iconic ski destinations with expansive terrain, alpine bowls, and a lively village atmosphere. You can also choose water over snow with a half-day of whitewater rafting or paddleboarding on the upper Colorado River.
Beaver Creek Resort
Known for groomed runs, luxury lodging, and a village experience with dining, shopping, and seasonal events.
Eagle River and Eagle Ranch Village
The river is a scenic corridor offering fly fishing, rafting, and riverside trails surrounded by high‑country landscapes. The Eagle Ranch Village is a walkable local district with restaurants, coffee shops, and access to nearby trails and open spaces. For an inside break from the weather, the Eagle County Historical Society Museum is located in Chambers Park in Eagle.

A quiet mountain lake setting with hiking, paddling, wildlife viewing, and a forested picnic area.

Glenwood Springs and Glenwood Canyon
One of the largest mineral hot springs in the world is located in this small mountain town, along with other attractions such as the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Glenwood Canyon is a dramatic stretch of the Colorado River framed by towering canyon walls, scenic overlooks, and paved paths. You can do a 2- hour short and mild family raft trip, add the half-day Roaring Fork Rapids on Crystal River, or get a little braver and go for the Shoshone Rafting with II-IV level rapids. As an aside, if western history intrigues you, Doc Holliday is widely believed to be buried somewhere in Linwood Cemetery in Glenwood Springs. There is a marker for him, but they claim he’s not actually buried where the marker is, for fear of grave robbers and souvenir seekers.

Parking is free for the first two hours in the short-term lots (Take a ticket when you drive in). Long-term lots use 24-hour increments from arrival (pre-pay in kiosks)
