Information to improve our chances of getting aviation to zero emissions as the ultimate goal. It’s not going to happen tomorrow, but we need to start today. The information in this YouTube video is both interesting and relevant. Lower altitudes, as we know, will entail worse fuel economy, but if we can find a balance, it’s a win/win situation. We have to start somewhere, so why not use AI to help?
Information about the basics for METARs and TAFs
This aviation YouTube video is a basic overview of the abbreviations and symbols used by both METAR and TAF. It’s not anything a seasoned pilot wouldn’t know, but it’s a great learning tool for student pilots. Although the video is old, it remains relevant and easy to understand. Do you need a Jet or Just Wings?
This YouTube video presents a general overview of the pros and cons of prop versus jet engines. It may be from the perspective of a Piper Cherokee guy, but he definitely has some very valid points. Everything from the cost of fuel, inspections, and insurance to safety, to just being able to relax and enjoy the magic of flight! To be fair, I will present a general overview from the perspective of, say, a Cirrus or Gulfstream pilot if I find a good one. One of you could make your own and send it in. It doesn’t have to be fancy, just informative and fairly brief.
As an aside, I have nothing against Pipers if that sounded derogatory about it coming from a “Piper guy”; he has a beautiful plane, a pristine hangar, and a nice, easy-going, informative manner. I have a Piper myself, and although she’s quick, she’s a whole lot slower than his Cherokee.
This is my Piper, and she’s ready to go! She has three sisters whose names are Cessna, Cirrus, and Jett. And just so we cover all the bases, we own a low and slow Beach Sundowner. (and we love her too)
