Show Low Regional Airport, (SOW, KSOW) is a public airport owned by the city of Show Low located 2 miles east of Show Low, Arizona in Navajo County. At an elevation of 6,415.5 this airport has two runways:

Inside the modern terminal there is a pilot briefing room with internet for weather and flight planning. There is also a conference room available for a small fee equipped with TV, VCR/DVD, fax machine, and copier. The passengers inside the terminal have access to free Wi-Fi.

There is both Jet A and AvGas with the AvGas available 24/7 through self-serve with Phillips 66 contract fuel. They offer minor services for both powerplant and airframe services and there are tiedowns for parking.

There is commercial traffic provided by Southern Airways Express to the Phoenix Shy Harbor Airport.

While there is a courtesy car listed rental cars are also available through Enterprise, Hatch Toyota, and Show Low Ford. Other options for transportation include: Sunny Side Taxi, Bear Down Transportation and Uber. It is also possible to book the airport shuttle out of Phoenix Sky Harbor.

Where To Stay

There are several choices of hotels within about 2 miles of the airport:

Quality Inn Show Low: is nearest at around 1.2 miles from the field. Motel 6 is about 1.5 miles out while, Hampton Inn & Suites Show Low-Pinetop, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western Paint Pony Lodge are located around 2 miles from the airport. They’re all pretty close together so you can take your pick. You can also use Expedia.com or Hotels.com to compare amenities and prices.

Where To Eat

The House is known for delicious burgers and a friendly atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a casual meal. Also known for great burgers is the Hole In One.

Harvest Juice Co. is a popular choice for healthy and fresh juices, smoothies, and breakfast items. The PersNIKKIty’s Cafe offers a variety of salads, wraps, and breakfast options. It’s a favorite for those looking for fresh and tasty meals.

If you’d like a good steak or a little South of the Border taste they have the El Charro Beer Mexican Restaurant. and a Cattlemen’s Steakhouse & Lounge, a steakhouse known for its great steaks and nice atmosphere.

Looks like the best breakfast can be found at Monica’s Cafe or Aunt Nancy’s, a family restaurant.

If you’re looking for some Texas BBQ in Arizona, Charlie’s Smoke Wagon out on old Hwy. 60 is highly recommended. They have a pile of nachos that looks like a small mountain. It’s family owned, kid friendly, and they have sweet tea!

Where To Drink

Cattlemen’s is always a nice place for a drink with or without the steak. There is also the Buffalo Bill’s Tavern and Museum home of the Buffalo Nickel Brewery. That makes for a bit of an interesting combo but, why not? It looks like an interesting place!

Another choice for alcohol is the Rumor’s Cocktail Lounge where they also serve bar food, with the local favorites being burgers and garlic cheese curds. You can also chill at El Charro Beer Mexican Garden.

Things To Do

There are seasonal activities here like Magic on the Mountain Christmas Light Show and the Show Low Shines Christmas Light Parade.

There is also always the allure of the Deuce of Clubs Thunder Raceway every Saturday night. This is a 1/4 mile oval dirt track that features racers in Modifieds to Mod Lites.

There is one public golf courses in Show Low. The Birdie Ranch at Silver Creek Golf Club has 18 holes with a par of 72. There are also several Disc Golf courses in Show Low. They do have other golf courses but they are either private or semiprivate.

There is a museum, the Show Low Historic Museum, admission is free. This museum houses collections that preserve the historic Native and American objects and art of the White Mountain area of Arizona.

Interesting Facts

Muhammad Ali trained for his 1976 bout against Ken Norton at a Show Low airport hanger. He set up a small private training camp there so he could train in the thin atmosphere (elev. around 6,400ft.) and escape the crowds.
