The main building for Sandstone Aviation FBO is in Building 52G. They too have AvGas and Jet-A fuel and aircraft maintenance/repair with the veteran owned Red Mountain Aero. A courtesy car is available from the Sandstone Aviation FBO. You can get rental cars from either FBO or do it on your own. You can find Enterprise, Hertz, and National at the airport with Budget, Alamo, and Avis in town.
There are several taxi companies and shuttle services in the area. Uber is also available here. USA Taxi has the best ratings. Color Country Cab Co. and St. George Shuttle have some very mixed reviews so I guess it just depends on the day.
Where To Stay
There is everything from an entire cottage at Savannah’s Zion Retreat with new private hot tubs to Springhill Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western and La Quinta. Most rooms are really inexpensive here. Especially compared to the last airport I researched which was New Haven, CT. Talk about a world of difference. As the realtors say, “It’s all about location, location, location.”

Where To Eat/Drink
The closest place to grab a bite or a drink is going to be the Observation Deck Bar & Bistro. It’s located upstairs in the secure area on the second floor. It hasn’t been there long (as of May 2025) but so far has good reviews.
The second closest place is the Sidecar Cafe immediately south of the airport. The closest drink besides the airport itself is probably the Silver Reef Brewing Company.
Coming in with great reviews is the Cliffside Restaurant with stunning views and great food. For good ole American comfort food try the Black Bear Diner.
The sombrero goes off to Angelica’s Mexican Grill for south of the border cuisine. There is also the Benja Thai Garden for Thai and sushi and If you’re looking for fresh and healthy visit the Twisted Noodle Cafe.
In Conclusion
St. George is a fast growing little city in the SW corner of Utah just north of the Arizona line. It is bordered on the north by the the Pine Valley Mountains and sits at the most NE part of Mojave Desert. It’s only 118 mile from Las Vegas and 300 miles from Salt Lake City. If you get bored you can just pick another direction.
Zion National Park is a place everyone should visit in their lifetime.
