Mexico Memorial Airport (MYJ, KMYJ), also known as Hagan Brothers Field, is a non-towered public airport located 3 miles East of Mexico, MO. It is owned by the City of Mexico, Missouri, in Audrain County, and has 2 runways as follows:

There is AvGas, Jet-A, and MoGas, with credit cards accepted 24 hrs. a day. For Jet A after hours, call 573-473-7758.
Parking is ramp or tiedowns only, but Major Airframe and Power services are available. There is no bottled or bulk oxygen on this field.
Transportation
A free courtesy car is available to pilots for local use, as well as rental cars. The terminal has a pilot lounge, snooze room, public phone, and a restroom
Where To Stay
This is a small town, so hotels near the field are scarce; however, there are eight options close by.
The closest place is the Days Inn Mexico by Wyndham. The next nearest is the Capital O Amerihost Inn and Suites. Best Western Teal Lake Inn, just a mile farther, with the best ratings in town. There is also a Budget Inn, a Holiday Inn Express, a Quality Inn, a Red Barn Inn, and America’s Value Inn Mexico.
The Red Barn Inn is a rustic bed & breakfast, actually located in Perry, and the Holiday Inn Express is in nearby Kingdom City.

Where To Eat
The 581 is a family-owned bar and grill for casual dining. They serve everything from wings to steak.
The Pig Up & Go is a BBQ favorite, and Dagwood Jr is a local sandwich shop. Stacey’s Place is known for catfish specials and homemade pies. Buckys Sit or Get is a family-style place offering comfort food classics.
For Mexican food, there is Dos Arcos, Vega’s Burritos, or Los Comales II. My family tried Dos Arcos and said the mixed fajitas were great, the price was reasonable, and the portions were large.

Things To Do
Every September, visit this airport for the Zenith Aircraft Homecoming. People who are building or have had the good fortune and determination to have built their own Zenith bring their wings back to where it started. Vendors, food, and the company of like-minded enthusiasts abound. The 2025 attendees are: AeroLeds, Avemco, Corvair, Continental Titan, Dynon Avionics, Experimental Aircraft Channel, Garmin, Kitplanes, North American Aerospace Holdings, Plane Pliers, Sensenich, and ULpower Aero Engines.
It seems September is a good time to visit Mexico, MO. The Graceland Museum/Adrian County Historical Society in town features a Walk Back In Time Festival in late September, and the Dead Factory Haunted House is a top-rated activity.
The Graceland Museum (nothing to do with Elvis) is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The Dead Factory Haunted House is open Fridays and Saturdays. Ticket sales start at 6:00 p.m., and doors open at 7:00 p.m. from September 26, 2025, to November 1. Dates will vary slightly with subsequent years.
If you’re looking for outdoor activity, there is Teal Lake Park with nice views not far from the airport or the 18-hole Arthur Hills Golf Course on the west side of town.
