Jackson Hole Airport (JAC, KJAC) is a towered public field located 7 miles North of Jackson, Wyoming. The tower is attended from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time. There is one runway as follows:

This is a high-elevation field, surrounded by mountainous terrain. Located entirely inside the Grand Teton National Park, this is a noise-sensitive environment. Watch for elk, moose, and bison on the way down. While this is primarily a commercial airport, it’s also GA friendly and is the closest you can get to the Teton Mountains and Jackson Hole. It’s also a little bit of a flex to say you landed in Jackson Hole.

There are direct commercial flights here from 13 different cities, supplied by Alaska, Delta, American, and United.

Jackson Hole Flight Services is the FBO. AvGas, Jet-A, hangars, tiedowns, minor airframe & powerplant services, bottled oxygen, and a deicing pad at the north end of Taxiway A are just some of their amenities. Overnight parking requires prior permission. They have catering from Jedidiah’s Catering and do not allow outside food delivery at the FBO.

The Grand Teton Park Book Shop is also located in this terminal, but as of this writing, it is temporarily closed.

Transportaion

A crew car is available from the FBO with a two-hour time limit.

Rental car counters are located south of ticketing, and several different rental car companies have off-site locations. Most of those provide free shuttle service to their off-airport locations. Carla Car Rental can help you find the best deal.

The Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit (START) runs a seasonal airport shuttle from mid-December through April, connecting you to multiple downtown stops. You have to use the Transit App or exact cash. There are also several licensed private shuttles, including the Jackson Hole Shuttle and Prime Time Shuttle.

Other options include the airport-run TaxiPool, Uber, Lyft (with pick-up at the north island in front of the ticketing terminal), A Black Car Service, Elite Car Service, and Savoya.

Where To Stay Near Jackson Hole Airport

Prices and names change frequently. For current prices, amenities, and new owner re-brands, check Expedia.com or Hotels.com. However, here are the nearest places to stay as of Dec, 2025. VRBO.com is also a good choice here.

  1. The Hostel is a budget‑friendly option in Teton Village. (Four-night minimum)
  2. Super 8 by Wyndham Jackson Hole is affordable and convenient for quick overnights.
  3. Hampton Inn Jackson Hotel is modern and near town.
  4. Snake River Lodge is the home of rustic‑luxury lodging right in Teton Village.
  5. Elk Refuge Inn is a quiet and scenic place overlooking the National Elk Refuge.

Where To Eat And Drink

Located inside the terminal, Jedidiah’s is a full-service restaurant. Jedidiah’s also has a small retail outlet and a Grab-and-Go Market.

The following restaurants are within a 15-minute drive, except the Mangy Moose. That’s probably a 30 to 40-minute drive depending on weather conditions. The drive is scenic and so is the decor, you won’t be sorry,

Gather in Jackson Hole, American fare and happy hour near the town square. Yes!

The Mangy Moose Restaurant is located in Teton Village at the base of the ski resort. This place has been here a long time. I lived at the foot of these mountains as a child. While I’m not saying exactly how long ago that was, it’s been a while, and this place was there then. It was cool then, it’s even cooler now. Have a steak!

Bubba’s Breakfast & BBQ, serving hearty breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, and BBQ.
Miazga’s serves classic Polish and Italian comfort food. Rated one of the best places to eat here. Bin22 serves Spanish and Italian-style tapas, and it’s a great spot for wine and cocktails.
Local Restaurant & Bar is a modern American steakhouse with locally raised beef. The Snake River Grill is a local favorite for fine dining. Elegant with a cozy fireplace.
Persephone Bakery is a high-end bakery with delicious pastries and amazing food.

Things To Do

Even if you don’t ski or snowboard, you should try the Jackson Hole Aerial Tram and Gondola Ride. It’s perfect for sightseeing and photography. You’ll get an unsurpassed 360-degree view, and you can grab a world-famous Top Of The World Waffle in Corbet’s Cabin at the top. (Yes, they’ll bring you back down.)

The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has world-class skiing and snowboarding in winter, hiking, biking, and scenic rides in summer. If you are not a skier but still want to play in the snow, there is a dog-sledding adventure during winter.

The Jackson Hole Town Square is home to the iconic antler arches that you have probably seen in pictures. It’s also filled with little boutique shops, galleries, and a classic Western atmosphere. Great for strolling and people watching.

The National Elk Reserve & Greater Yellowstone Visitors Center is great for families. Learning about and actually seeing local wildlife is always a highlight for kids. Step outside for elk viewing and scenic walks. Scenic overlooks and winter sleigh rides are a standout experience in the protected reserve.

For the thrill seekers in the group, the Cowboy Coaster at Snow King Mountain is a fast and fun mountain coaster with big views of the valley if you keep your eyes open.

Minutes from the airport is the Grand Teton National Park, where there is endless hiking, wildlife viewing, lakes, rafting, and constant photography opportunities. During summer, you can float the Snake River; the scenery can’t be beat.
