Things to Do Nearby

  • If you have talked yourself into staying awhile, Yellowstone awaits! Glacial adventure tours, winter wildlife tours, and the Best Of Yellowstone Full Day Nat’l Park Tour from Bozeman (10-12 hours). There’s also a seasonal Madison River guided kayak tour, which lasts about 3 hours. If you are the outdoorsy type who wants to get up close and personal, the Yellowstone Winter Wildlife and Snowshoe Tour will grant you some of the most spectacular views you have ever seen. This is a private tour with breakfast and lunch provided.
  • Bozeman sits within easy reach of several excellent skiing options. The two nearest are Hyalite Canyon for backcountry enthusiasts and the Bridger Bowl Ski Area, over 2,000 skiable acres, and the experts’ only Ridge Terrain.
  • Big Sky Resort (1 hour away) is one of the largest ski resorts in the country, offering varied terrain over 6,000 acres and world‑class amenities. Skiers also enjoy Moonlight Basin for its quieter slopes and scenic views. Cross‑country skiers can explore Nordic trails at Lone Mountain Ranch near Big Sky.
  • Museums: Bozeman is the home of Montana State University. Located on campus is the Museum of the Rockies, with a world-renowned dinosaur collection and regional history exhibits. Artifacts and photos covering Native American history and regional heritage can be found at the Gallatin History Museum.
  • Nearby Outdoor Activities: The Montana Grizzly Encounter is a privately owned sanctuary for rescued grizzly bears, offering educational viewing just east of Bozeman, off I-90.
