FBOs & Services
Moraine Air Park, Inc. serves as the on‑field FBO, offering full‑service 100LL, attended operations from 8 a.m. to sunset, and transient parking (ramp or tiedowns). Additionally, on‑field services include Dayton Aviation Services for flight training, simulator training (Elite PI-135XTS), and aircraft rental, an active EAA Chapter 48 community, and a CareFlight medical helicopter base. No major airframe or powerplant maintenance is available on the field.
What Makes Moraine Airpark Special
This Airpark serves travelers headed to the Dayton region and is recognized for its friendly, community-driven atmosphere and scenic riverfront setting along the Great Miami River. With the active EAA chapter 48, this field is known for multiple fly‑ins throughout the year, including the long‑running Funday Sunday Fly‑In on the first Sunday in May every year. Moraine offers a welcoming gateway for recreational pilots and aviation enthusiasts alike.
Moraine sits in one of the most historically significant aviation regions in the world, and its story stretches far beyond the airpark’s 1955 opening. Just north of the field, the Wright Brothers tested early seaplane concepts along the Miami River in 1907, laying groundwork for the experimental spirit that still defines the area today. The region also played a major role in producing the De Havilland DH‑4, the only American‑built combat aircraft to serve in World War I, giving Moraine a direct link to America’s earliest military aircraft.

Transportation
A crew car is available on the field from the FBO during attended hours. As with most small GA fields, it’s first‑come, first‑served. Moraine Air Park, Inc. can also arrange rental cars through Dayton-area providers, or you can use Carla Car Rental for regional comparisons of vehicles and prices.
Both Uber and Lyft operate here, as well as a local taxi service. However, the local taxi service had a 1-star rating and operated from a hotel. So, I would try my luck with a rideshare company.
